Hitting gives you a better chance at winning. Don't be afraid of busting if you hit. The probability of getting a bust is very low. Do this regardless of what the blackjack dealer's upcard is showing.

* If your blackjack hand has a total of ten or eleven, you have to consider the blackjack dealer's upcard. If you have a total that is greater than what the dealer's card is showing, make a double down. That is, if you have chosen the blackjack table that uses that option. Doubling down means doubling your bet before making a hit. If this is not an option on your blackjack table, just hit.

* If your blackjack hand's total is between twelve and seventeen, check out the dealer's upcard first. If it shows a seven or higher, take a hit. If the blackjack dealer's upcard is less than seven, choose to stand.

* If your hand's total in blackjack is seventeen or higher. It is safest to stand. It doesn't matter what the blackjack dealer's card shows.
